  5. Being a Simpsons fan, long enjoying all things of the
  6. Simpson way, I have enjoyed and used the icons made
  7. by other folks out there. However, since none of the icon
  8. collections featured a wide variety of Springfield
  9. characters, and being possessed of both the Simpsons
  10. Illustrated magazine and a color scanner, I felt it my
  11. duty (and pleasure) to bring to the world the most
  12. complete collection of Simpson icons yet to be found.
  13.  
  14. I do not have the full collection here; some major
  15. secondary characters are missing, which I intend to
  16. create, in a second Simpsons collection, hopefully before
  17. the end of the year.

  19. I think icons should be for the enjoyment of all, without
  20. hidden costs.  So instead of asking for money (which I
  21. couldn't do anyway, as they are copyrighted characters),
  22. I would ask one thing--if you like these icons and keep them,
  23. please send me either a postcard or an e-mail and let me
  24. know what you think of them. I thrive on feedback, and
  25. would be interested in all comments, flames and concerns
  26. expressed by everyone.

  28. If I do not receive any feedback, I will probably keep the
  29. second collection of icons to myself, perceiving that there
  30. is no interest in the outside world for them.

  32. I also want to take one last paragraph to give thanks to
  33. Dave Schutz, whose icons I have enjoyed immensely.
  34. They're some of the best out there, in a "Colossal Icon"
  35. collection. He used a wonderful little application to
  36. put his icons on. When you turn on balloon help, these
  37. icons "speak." I have borrowed this application, and have
  38. put my Simpsons icons on them, so they, too, can have voices.

  40. I hope you enjoy my icons. It was a labor of true fandom.

  45. 1. You really need system 7.
  46. 2. Do a "Get Info" (File menu) on the original icon file.
  47. 3. Click on the icon in the window; choose "Copy" (Edit menu).
  48. 3a. You ought to have system 7.
  49. 4. Close the window, then "Get Info" on destination file/disk.
  50. 5. Click on the icon, choose "Paste" (Edit menu).
  51. 5a. This only works in system 7.
